Blog Post 6: PDC Meeting 1

We had our first PDC meeting last Tuesday, November 19th at lunch, where we did group introductions. In order to help everyone step out of their comfort zone and meet new people, we formed an accountability buddy system, where soft-spoken members in the group were paired with louder members in the group, allowing them to hold each other accountable and have a peer to peer mentor system. We had a skills survey, where every group member suggested 1-2 skills they wanted to focus on, and we sent out a Google form, where each member voted on the top 3 skills they wanted to learn this year through PDC. We will be having activities related to the top 3 skills at each PDC meeting, helping them by slowly building their confidence and professional skills. We also challenged the group members, giving them the task to help me draft the fall edition of the Homestead Horizon, our Homestead FBLA newsletter.
